Today is a really weird day. I woke up tired. Work dragged on. I couldn’t really cross anything off fo that to-do list. I wanted to go for a walk to clear my head but it was raining. I don’t know those days suck. I end up glancing at the watch at 4pm wondering if can finally go to bed. So to get out of this funky mood and not eat all the chocolate pudding in the house I write the currently in February post. Hope this will be good thing.
Loving.
sleep, chocolate pudding, snow flakes, weekends, books, cozy blankets…
I feel the winter coziness deeply those days. My motivation is lacking and I have a hard time getting up and going in the mornings. But if I wake up and the snow flakes dance it is all fine. When I take the first spoonful of hot chocolate cake the world seems a bit better. When I fall asleep on a good book I am happy. when I wake up in the morning scared to be running late for the first meeting but it is Saturday all is bright. You get the idea. it is the little things.
Reading.
The second book in the “Darker Shades of Magic” Trilogy. I like it. I think it is better than the first one. I am not sucked in as much as I thought. But it could be because I am not really concentrating and have too many thoughts swirled around in my head.
I also read why too much in twitter in the last few days. That is always a good sign for procrastination. I need to get a handle on it because it really is just a waste of time getting sucked in there.
And then I did start a reading project. I do not only keep a list of readings goals for 2021 but also I started a longtime project to Read around the world. This is going to be fun!
Remembering.
Days when we had more winter than right now. It is the most snow we had in the last 8 years here in Berlin but it is still no real winter in my book. However we are supposed to get temperatures down to -10 degree next week. I am hoping it will stay cold a bit longer. Then I might actually have the joy of going ice skating again. It has been too long. I remember many years back ice skating through Spreewald stopping at random gardens and barns where mulled wine was served. That was such a nice thing.
Sharing.
My progress on my 100 day project over on instagram. This year (year six!) I am back to sketching. Follow on #100daysofcraftaliciouslinearart. I am mesmerized by artist who are able to draw beautiful sketches just using lines. And I figured I can learn how to do that. Also it is a good break in all the screen time I am currently having. Have you heard of the 100 day project. Are you maybe even participating too?
Wishlisting.
My goals this month is to get moving on my procrastination project the office space aka craft lab. If you follow along for a while you know it is a reoccurring thing on my to-do list. Can’t get it done. I wrote about the fear of a blank space before. But I am giving it another try and I am going to look into reading chairs that function also as a guest bed. I know what kind of color scheme I would like. Also I will search for a new bookshelf. Maybe have it custom made. And I decided I will sell the old one so I am forced to get moving on this project. Do you have any tricks on how to tackle a project? I am usually good in making plans and follow through but this thing is tough.
I am linking up the currently in February post to Anne. What are you loving right now?
Happy Wednesday

I agree – motivation is always at an all-time low during the winter!! But I do think hot chocolate cake could really help to motivate me:)
I am usually very happy in winter and strive but this year all is different. Hope you find your motivation is coming back soon.

Ah, those kinds of days are no fun but just seem to happen more in January and February, I think – hope a little blog post writing indeed worked as therapy :) It is the little things in winter that get me through sometimes – and I’m thinking the combination of chocolate, cozy blanket, and book all together would just be perfect right now.
Good luck with your craft lab – it sounds like it will be so great! And it sounds like you have a good to-do list to get yourself started. Pinpointing a specific inspiration photo or two always helps me really get going on something like that.
Thank you for stopping by. Yes I have many many images pinned, in my head and somewhere in the chaos. I just need to get going to make them happen. I rather have indecisiveness due to too many options.
Hope you find some time to snuggle up in a cozy blanket with a good book and some hot beverage.

That snow looks so beautiful! We never get snow even in winter so I’m always jealous to see other people’s photos! Keeping cost with a book and hot chocolate cake sounds perfect!
I love snow as you know and we finally had some this year. Does Australia have snow anywhere? I know New Zealand does but not sure about Australia…

Oh, I used to go ice-skating every winter back in Germany. That was so much fun.
I miss it so much. But right we have -10 so it looks promising for next weekend
I love that picture. It’s gorgeous. And I’ve been having “blah” days too. It’s hard when the weather isn’t great and it’s hard to get outside. However, I just added chocolate pudding to my grocery list because that sounds perfect for right now!
I’m belatedly catching up on my “currently” reading :)
Hope you enjoyed your chocolate pudding. I am still eating way too much of it but hey, lets not stress.
