You guys… Today is the day where my mind is blank and I can’t come up with a good blog post I want to write. I have gazillion things running through my mind that I should be doing instead of sitting here trying to find something to say. I am procrastinating. And yet I have nothing really to say. So you will have to bear with me and read my list of things I should be doing right now.
- My aunt and my uncle are coming for a visit later today and I should:
- Tidy up my desk. It is mess (see here) and it is not getting better.
- Clean the bathrooms.
- I need to put away my suitcase from our October trip. Needs to be cleaned firth. Sigh.
- I need to write a newsletter for my client. But before I need to understand the support message because the software was a bit buggy.
I should be calling electricians.I cannot believe the universe heard my calling. I found someone to get here by November 28th. Christmas with lights you guys.- I need to do laundry. Like take care of stains so some things can finally get washed. (Lucky me the husband is mainly in charge of laundry but this is my stain so I need to get this prepared).
- I should be looking for lamps to install so if we find an electrician he actually does it all and not just half of it.
- I need to mop the floor. Like yesterday. First I need a mob though. We don’t have one. Sigh.
- I need to repair my bike so I can use it for grocery shopping.
- I also need to buy a new bike. I need to get into researching my options.
Well, this is my list. All I really want to do is read Iron Flame. It finally got delivered. I can’t start though or nothing will get done.
Now let me know one what you have been procrastinating about? What is the worst item on your to do list you loath doing? Which of my to-do list items would you enjoy doing?

I’d read the book! So often when I can’t seem to get ahead on my to-do list, it’s because I need a break!
Thank you for that perspective. I will go and read my book now.
I just started Fourth Wing and it is SO GOOD! You are right, though, I cannot do anything else when I know I could be reading it.
Oh you are in for a treat. It’s a whole world we are diving in when starting the Empyrean series. I will read now… Some stuff done and my aunt just canceled so I’ve got time.
Oh, glad you were able to get an electrician to come! I definitely have days where I look around my house tnad think of all the things I should be doing. That’s why I’m sitting in Starbucks right now, ha ha.
I am so glad I am not alone. So many things one could do. But does it make life happy? Probably not. Does it make live more organized. Probably yes. Enjoy your Starbucks.
I have been procrastinating on so many things. One is a personal project, one is a project for my volunteer work, and one is an insurance claim for my car that I need to follow up on. UGH.
Ugh. I am sorry you are in this loop too.
Insurance claim tasks are the worst. Best luck solving that.
I just got a new job and my husband and I need to sit down and figure out benefits. But…I don’t want to. It’s hard AND boring.
I feel you. No fun. So much adulting. Meehhh
I would have been happy with getting the house ready for your Aunt and Uncle, because I would be looking forward to a visit with family. But I read in your comments that they had to cancel, so clearly it’s time to read a book! Better get on that lamp situation soon though, you won’t want the electrician to come and not get everything done.
I agree the lamps are a priority now. Spend some time yesterday and at least have a direction for my office. More complicated are the bathrooms.
My aunt will come in two weeks so it’s only postponed.
hahaha… this is a fun post. we all have such a list.
I want to organize my travel clothes, snorkeling gear since we came back from Lombok, still work in progress. instead, I’m going for a foot massage with hubby now.
Going for a foot massage does sound much better than organizing stuff. Enjoy.
I’ve been procrastinating on so many things… I think I need to do as you have done and just to a general brain dump of things I am procrastinating about.
The most looming one, perhaps, is that my passport is now expired….
Yea brain dumping helps a bit. And just after o wrote it the electrician called so maybe the universe does need to here our struggles. I don’t know.
Getting a passport renewed is tedious but it would be a priority for me. Hope you can cross it off. And then hopefully use it too.
I am glad to hear you found an electrician. I heard all about the booked out handy people from my parents in law.
It is crazy right now if you need anything done right now.
I am rather handy and I could have done it myself but the time… let’s hope this electrician is as good as he sounded, shows up and actually does a good job.
I hope the electrician is just what you need! And you don’t have any sort of saga like San dealt with when she had to replace her kitchen tiles, lol.
What am I procrastinating on? Lots of chores I need to do. Budgeting. Re-hanging my wall clock.
Oh no please no repeat of Sans kitchen saga. I would do it myself before it comes to that.
I also need to hang stuff up where I need to drill holes so… more procrastinating.
I have several bins of clothes in my bedroom that need to be stored in the basement and I have a bunch of clothes that I want to take to a resale shop and there are always other things, so they just sit in my room because I can live with them there.
If I were you, I’d shop for lamps. 1. Because it sounds fun, and 2. if the electrician comes you want to be prepared
I agree I need to find lamps. I am not sure about the fun part though. I hate lamp shopping. But I am making progress.
I do have so many things I want to resell. It’s just so much effort. But it feels nice when it’s finally gone.
The funny thing about “to do lists”… often the individual items don’t take a lot of time, and yet, we keep procrastinating. I know this so well.
I’d like to take over the task of researching for a new bike. That sounds like fun! ;)
Oh please go ahead. I even forgot I put it up there so much I am trying to not do it. Ha.
I agree many of those tasks down really take so much effort but build up to being overwhelming.
