Two month, eight weeks, 60 days and 1440 hours until this year’s over. How did we get here? And how have we gotten here this fast? I am not done yet with all the plans and goals and adventures let alone the to-do list that I wrote for 2023. And since I don’t usually do any to-do list items in December I am a bit stressed out of all the things that will need to happen in November. But before we start that let’s do the Magic October recap of magical moments and fun things. Let’s go.
How I incorporated my word MAGIC in October
Let’s see where I came across magic in the past month.
- I found magic while soaking in the bath tub and re-reading a book I have just read last month.
- I enjoyed hours of magic sitting in a hot tub watching the Mediterranean Sea.
- I enjoyed the magic of a spontaneous visit by my sisters family. It’s been a while since we all been together and while it was short it was fun.
- I appreciated the magic of friendship and was glad I got to see my best friend again after four months. How did that happen?
- I witnessed the magic of amazing sunrises and sunsets.
- I cherished the magic of a hot cup of herbal tea that I gathered myself.
- I created magic by spending a weekend with dad and passing our boating license.
- I enjoyed the magic of a spa afternoon with. my sister followed by a wonderful flavorful dinner at the asian place I wanted to check out.
- I created magic by turning some of my art into products. Should I tell you more?
- I enjoyed my morning walks and even some spontaneous evening strolls.
- I experiences the magic of feeling to run one evening. Unplanned it just happened.
- I am thankful for the magic of modern medicine and health insurance. Don’t skip your medical checkups.
- I burried myself in the magic of books. Always. Every month.
- I loved the magic of 30 minute naps after lunch. So good.
- I enjoyed a magical vacation week with the husband in Mallorca. Recap to come.
- I magically conversed in (admittedly brocken) Spanish while being on vacation and tried ordering all our foods. The hotel staff was supporting my efforts and cheered me on.
- I observed the magic of rain falling in front of colorful leaves and listening to the soothing sound.
- I spread magic by commenting on 81 blog posts.
A magical image
I was either lucky and skilled enough to capture the magic of the moment my self or I share an image that really spoke to me.

How I will experience MAGIC in November
- I will enjoy the magic of community by attending NaBloPoMo.
- I will experience the magic of a sugar free month and the way my body feels.
- I will love the magical benefits of a detox week.
- I will be part of the magic of getting to know author Kirsten Miller in our next book club meeting.
- I will enjoy the magic of a weekend in my parent’s country home.
- I will learn more about the magic of video making.
- I will continue to learn the magic of speaking Spanish.
- I will celebrate the magic of having our lamps finally installed.
- I will spread magic and pack some shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
- I will use the magic sales of Black Friday to snatch some needed devices (mob, laptop, maybe phone, etc.)
Now your turn: What was magical to you in October? Is the fall season magical to you? Did you have a magical encounter with someone or something?

I’m so glad you were able to spend that time with family – your husband, your dad, etc! I think your last trip with your husband you both got sick, so it sounds like this vacation went smoothly – hooray!
Gorgeous pictures.
We have two Operation Christmas Child boxes to prepare; need to get on that ASAP!
Yes, this trip was definitely better for not being sick (even though the husband caught Covid on the flight home). But the week there was amazing and very relaxing.
I already have bought a few things for the boxes and only need a few additional things. I love that we are fellow box packers. This year though they told us to not include candy. That was always my filler and y cushions so now I need to think of other options.
Beautiful, magical photos! I love how adept you are at finding magic everywhere. And I hope your sugar free month goes great! I did a sugar free month a few years ago and ended up enjoying it. Not enough to give up sugar for good, LOL, but it went better than I expected!
Thank you. It is good practice to look for magical things in your every day life.
I had a mean headache/migraine yesterday all of a sudden and the husband mentioned it could be because I had sugar rush. But then I do it to get rid of my migraine because I know it will be better if I eat less sugar. I won’t give it up all together. But I realized that every once in a a while sugar free month or a detox week is like a reset.
Oh, that lamp item totally hit home for me – we just had ceiling lights installed after 5 months of them sitting in my hall closet. Here’s to a magical (and magic FULL) November!
Well I have hope that we’ll get ours installed when you managed to do just that.
Thank you for visiting my blog today.
Ooh, I love your monthly magic posts! Yes, I would like to hear more about your art projects!
Thank you Jenny. I love writing them. Always surprised how much magic is actually happening when I think about it. Also thanks for being interested in my art.
I adore your magic posts! October in itself is magical. I love the excitement that comes from the fall and Halloween decorations and the dress up for Halloween.
October isn’t the worst month. I like the lighting in October that is truly magical. I don’t care much for Halloween though.
OH, your October sounds so wonderful… full of magical moments. I also saw some magical sunsets at the beach <3
I am intrigued about art that you turned into products! Share more?
Beach sunsets are magical. It is the clouds over the waves that make it so wonderful I think.
Yes, I may have to write about my thoughts about art and products and how I keep talking myself out of it.
Your vacation sounds wonderful, even if your husband did get sick. I’m glad you got to spend some time with your sister and friend too. What a magical month!
It really was a wonderful magical month with lots of quality time. .
I’m looking forward to hearing more about you getting your boat licence – sounds exciting.
Your word for the year is a great one and sounds like you’ve put it into practice many times this year.
Hope your November is a super magical one :)
The monthly magic exercises are really good to keeping the word present. Not sure how that would work with another one. November is off to a good start. Hope you November will be magical too.
