Last year I shared my Christmas Wishlist and it was lots of fun to actually sit down and think about the things I would love to receive. And even better I did receive a few things I had put on there. So maybe I need to let the universe know what is on my current Christmas wishlist so that again a few things find their way under the tree.
Books.
This doesn’t change. A good book goes a long way. Some of the NaBloPo Bloggers (who was it?) mentioned and Islandic tradition of giving books on December 24th and then everyone just reads. Love it. So these – among many others – are currently on my list:
- The Last Educate by Naomi Novik – last year I received the first in the trilogy
- The Pinguin Book of Christmas Stories – matching my Christmas Carol one
- The Winter Witch by Kathrin Arden – the last book in the trilogy I need
- Das Weihnachtshaus by Zsuzsa Bánk – another addition to my Christmas book collection
Pashmina.
I love me a good pashmina. I have a whole drawer full of shawls, pashminas and scarfs. But the other day I realized I do not own a grey one. Do I need one? probably not I could make due with the black pashmina or the white one. I could also use the two grey heavy knit scarfs. But then a pashmina…. in gray…
Kneipp Candle.
This Goodby Stress Candle I asked for last year. I did get it. It is a wonderful scent. I want to have another one. I bought myself an IKEA eucalyptus candle as replacement but the scent is too strong, too cheap and I can only light it for so long before my migraine is easing its hand. So I would love to receive another one maybe switch up the scent and get the Feel-good Candle with macadamia and orange scents.
Mortar.
My herb collecting for teas and mixtures and natural cosmetic continues. I think I want to have a small, white minimal mortar to grind up such herbs and use them even better.
Plant Stand.
I want to have some more plant decoration in my craft lab aka home office. I think this type of modern plant stand would fit perfectly on top of the little side bar where the printer will be. And bonus I won’t clutter up the surface if the plant lives there. I think I need an eucalyptus plant there.
Tray
Another addition to my craft room. I have my reading chair. I was going to get a little side table but decided that my step-ladder (I am tiny person) will do if I just put a fancy tray on top and style it. This way I can put my cup of tea there for the next reading session. I love the Hay Kaleido Trays as they are so versatile. Of course in a blue shade.
AirPods
My air pods are 5 years old or more and I can hardly get through a one our meeting by now. It is one of the most used items I have in a day and it is part of my work tools. So I am still pondering if I should just buy it as a business expense or wish for at Christmas.
Fun socks
I love me some fun polka dot or striped socks. Preferably with some glitter. The ones I own are slowly showing their usage so I wouldn’t mind getting some new ones. Staying in the color palette of blacks, grey and maybe add the pink ones.
Fancy Earrings.
You can never have too many earrings. And these are true statement pieces. I could probably figure out how to make myself one but every once in a while I like to just get a piece of fun jewelry.
All while knowing that it is not about the present. The husband and I are actually discussing of not getting gifts for each other. I am not sure how I feel about it. I would love to get presents from him because he always picks the best and most thoughtful ones. But I hate getting him presents so I am in a tight spot here. So wondering, how you handle it?
Happy Christmas shopping

I love the plant stands! So simple and elegant! And I too would love some cute socks. This is a great wishlist.
Thank you Suzanne. Yes simple elegance in my messy craft room would be nice. Fun socks are fun. Get some!
I’m laughing at you saying you love getting presents but dislike getting them for your husband. He must be difficult to shop for. One year, my brother had not gotten gifts for any of us, and I suggested that perhaps we might stop the tradition if it was too much, I didn’t mind. He said, “But I LIKE getting presents…” HA!
I wonder if I could buy that candle in the US, it looks lovely.

He is the worst to shop for. I think 80″ of the presents I get him will be exchanged so after almost 20 years I am often thinking why bother… Not an attitude I like but never hitting the mark is exhausting. It seems your brother and I would get along…
I think Kneipp is an international company so maybe you are lucky. It really is worth its money.
You have some nice things picked out! I always like getting presents at Christmas- even if it’s things I need anyway. I think everyone should have gifts to open! Maybe your husband needs to make his own gift list so you know what to get him : )
Oh he does have a gift list. But that usually contains a new xbox, a laptop or iPad and honestly I think this is a bit much… But then maybe I am too cheap… I agree everyone should be able to open a tiny something.
My husband and I do always exchange gifts, but I know LOTS of people who don’t exchange any gifts with their spouse at Christmas.
I love my AirPods, too, though don’t use them every day. My phone, laptop, and smartwatch though – also all Apple products – I use EVERY SINGLE DAY. They’re all quite old now, but work so well. I’m not a fan of how much it all costs, but I have had such good luck with the longevity of every Apple product I’ve owned. I think my laptop is 8 years old? And nothing has ever gone wrong with it!
I am an apple fan myself. I never had any other laptop or device and it just works without problems. No errors, no virus updates, all seamlessly. So yeah that always is a good thing to invest in. I think it is nice to exchange a little something. Even though it isn’t really necessary. But it is nice.
My husband only wants gifts which he explicitly asked for, so that is what he gets or he does not get any ;) I do make a list now but since my birthday was in November said list is usually depleted. In all honesty I sometimes wonder why we do need special occasions to gift things. Can’t we just give something when we find something the other person will like? I struggle with that sometimes. I think for the gifts from relatives I will ask for family memberships for museums where everyone can chip in. It’s always fun to go and supports the local museum culture.
The museum memberships are a great idea. I love that. I personally think it is nice to have certain events where gifts are exchanged. However I think it has gotten a bit out of hand. I always feel the pressure that gift need to have the same value money wise even though I sometimes think a self-made present has more value to me when gifting because I made it and thought about that person while doing it. But not everyone can appricate it. This whole git giving thing is such a stress factor for me.
Oh, you know I love a nice wish/gift list around the holidays! :) This was fun to read and I always get inspired by other people’s wish list… the plant stands are awesome and I definitely am not opposed to getting socks for Christmas. Nice socks are awesome! I also have a nice pashmina shawl that I should get out!

yes those lists spark some inspiration. I was opposed to socks for Christmas but either I am getting old or I don’t care about getting practical gifts. The plant stand is really good. I hope someone of my family reads this list too.
Christmas knocking at our door. I wish santra will send peace and love through gifts. Very nice post dear. I’m saving it for this christmas. God bless.
Oh, I love presents, haha. Even though I’m at the age where I can buy the things I want, it’s fun to put together a gift list. And I like buying gifts for other people, especially if I have a wish list to work from. I hope you and your husband can work out some sort of gift idea this Christmas!

Yes, we could by it all ourselves but what is the fun in that. I often want something but don’t buy it for myself because I could do without so I really enjoy getting those things as gifts.
We ended up getting gifts for each other. So yeah, I will unwrap something.
Great list! Did you get any of them? I just found my AirPods in a coat pocket, haha. They’d been lost for MONTHS.
I did! I got the socks, a candle with a different smell and the tray as well as the mortar. I bought myself the AirPods just a couple days ago as I need them for work. How great that you found yours. It would have made me crazy not having mine.
