As promised earlier this month I have a little treat for you. Long time readers know that I have created a printable calendar before as a little thank you for stopping by this blog. Last year I didn’t do it but this year I sat down and created a printable poetry calendar 2025 for you. Inspired by my blackout poetry that many of you love.
For a printable calendar I was not able to make the art work very elaborate. Who has the chance to print that kind of quality at home, right? And who wants to have one page printed before running out of all the colored ink. No… that was not an option. So I created some real blackout poetry.
The book I used was found in the free little library and was one of two English books available. I used that one that looked like it was most likely not being picked up being a cheap thriller as it seems. Which proved a bit difficult because words were not as magical as I would have wanted them to be.
I wanted to create poetry that was inspiring, motivating, encouraging and also reflected the seasons. Not an easy task. However, I think I came up with some nice little poems though.
Having a black and white calendar is not as much fun as a colored one. So this will be your job after printing it. Because this calendar is a DIY calendar. For everyone – even the people who say they are not creative (which is not true but that is another blogpost…).
Get yourself some favorite highlighter and start marking away. Here are some ideas I tried out:
- color all in your favorite highlighter color. Mine would be blue.
- color the way you read the meaning. Where do you finish the sentences, the saying. I have the flow of the words in my mind when I create but you may read it totally different. And find another meaning.
- mark each word in a different color.
- embelish the words and add some doodles… flowers, sunshine, hearts… what ever you fancy.
And here you have it. If you like this calendar you may download for free. Personal use only and no reprinting for commercial gain. Be fair.
If you do print it and it finds a place in your home feel free to share: send me an email or tag me on Instagram. Id’d love to see it.
Do you have a calendar up in your home? Have you ever created a calendar yourself? What is your favorite highlighter color? Do you even own a highlighter?

So cool, I hope this gets loads of downloads!
I often create my own printables, both planner pages, trackers and wall calendars. And yes, of course I own a bunch of highlighters. Neon pink is my favourite colour but all the bright colours gets used around here.
Happy weekend!
Happy weekend to you too. I bet you have wonderful planners and calendars.
I actually didn’t own any highlighters and had to buy them for the post. I rare use highlighters so not sure what I’m going to do with the bunch I have now, but who knows maybe that is inspiring me to something new.
This is very cool! How fun that you did that. I can’t wait for your post about people who say they are not creative (but are?) This sounds like an interesting topic. I always thought I was not, but I can pick up instruments, and language pretty well and can take photos and I love to sing even though my voice is horrendous. So I am probably more creative than I realized, but just didn’t have the outlet OR am less creative than some around me, so compared myself to them.
Well, I don’t have anything planned about the creativity. All I wanted to say is that this is all another topic we could discuss. However, you gave me some ideas so maybe I will turn it into a block post. You are creative and you already pointed a few things out
Thank you for this fun printable calendar, Tobia! I printed a copy and will enjoy it all year long!
Oh how wonderful. Thank you so much. Enjoy it and I guess I can also say have a great year.
I love this! I also love your challenge to be creative with it. I wouldn’t say I’m “not creative”- I’m just not creative when it comes to visual art. Or, put another way, the things I create are…. not good.
Yes, be creative with it. If you do let me see a photo.
I agree you are creative. All the music taken you have is oozing creativity. I have no skill there at all.
What a fun idea, thank you for sharing it with us! At this point I have no place to put a calendar, but if I come up with a need I will definitely print it out.
You are welcome.
Maybe you find a spot.
Oh, that’s so much fun! I love that you gave us all homework with it, too!
No homework… just some little spark of creativity.
How wonderful, Tobia. I love that you’re sharing your poetry with us this way! I’ll definitely download a copy :)
You are welcome. Enjoy it.
