Just a quick note today as I am not feeling very well today. I came home from the weekend with a sore throat and today I lost my voice. Of course, right when I had the electrician here for the lamp installment. And of course my lamp has not yet arrived.
I ordered last Sunday and the website said it will be delivered within 2-4 days. On Thursday I called them asking when it will arrive since I didn’t even get a shipping info yet. They told me it will be in the mail that day. Well, I received a note on Saturday that it will be packed and made ready for shipping. Until today it has not been shipped. I did order two lamps at the shop (number 1 & 2) and today I received the notice that one is currently not available and will be shipped when back in stock. I have no idea which one is not available. I am already done with this shop.
I don’t get it. When shipping will take longer because of promotions, why not indicate on the website? And why does customer service pretend it will go out that day when it takes another 3 days to be handled? Makes me furious. If the website had stated it correctly I probably wouldn’t had bothered to order.
Anyway, I had feared this would happen so I ordered my second choice as back up on. Saturday night. Take a guess that one was shipped on Monday. Of course it didn’t make it here today. Since my purchase I have received really great emails telling me how this lamp was crafted in a family company. How they invest in sustainable products and protect nature. I am already so much more in love with this lamp (number 3). But first it needs to arrive.
Anyway, the electrician was here today and installed all lamps we had ready to be installed. We also ordered a mirror with included lights. When I opened that one, this is what I found.

Well, the electrician was really great. He drilled all necessary holes and prepared every room and installed all the lamps. And he will be back once I have the mirror lamp and my lamp ready. And will not charge much more for coming again. I am very happy.
Once he left I had to clean the entire apartment though – he was in every single room. Sigh… I swept, then had the robot vacuum go through the apartment twice and after that I mopped the floor. I felt so exhausted. I had this sick sweat and I was hot and cold. When I was finally done at 7.30 pm I took a shower and then made myself some dinner. All I want to do now is go to bed. This day was exhausting.
On the plus side today I woke up to a winter wonderland. This will be my view for the next months. I am hoping it will stay like this, maybe even some more snow. It is just beautiful. Today the afternoon light was really great. Winter at its best. for sure.
Tell me: Do you already have snow? Any theory why nothing ever runs smoothly? Any tips on how to get well like yesterday?

Oh goodness, BAH on the lamps not arriving on time! But YAY to your electrician, sounds like a number I would want to keep.

It has been cold here (mid-30s in the mornings, which is close to freezing), but clear and sunny. I have lived here for 27 years, and we have never gotten snow at our elevation, though we get a dusting on the nearby hills a couple of times a decade. Not often.
Yes I am going to save his number. He has three businesses: electrician, painting and tiles.
But I am annoyed by that lamp shop.
Would you like to get snow? Dusted hills sounds nice too you see but don’t have the traffic chaos I guess.
I would love a bit of snow, just a dusting, as long as we didn’t need to drive anywhere!

Ugh, I am sorry you’re sick and then had to deal with the electrician (who sounds really nice though) and the not-yet-shipped lamps. I am so sorry. I do not know why they can’t just give accurate information when you order online. I have waited for things that said they were shipped but then were never moved along… so frustrating.
We don’t have snow (and won’t get any) but overnight temps were close to freezing last night and when I went for my run this morning it was only 2C. THAT IS COLD ;)
I could do without being sick. The second time in two months. Sigh.
Yes these online shops drive me nuts. Will definitely cancel the order (once I have a voice) and buy elsewhere.

Oh, Tobia, this sounds awful. And I cannot believe the shipping issues! I hope you’ve mended by now, and that the lamp(s) have shown up, and that the mirror is replaced quickly. <3
Thank you Anne. Still not completely well again but getting there. And no mirror yet and the lamp… don’t ask I have canceled and ordered elsewhere. Sigh.
