I have mentioned in my first post for this years NaBloPoMo that I am coming to celebrate my 10th blogaversary. And I am looking forward to that. Its’s hard to believe that I have been showing up here for ten years and still find things I want to share. And also there are still people – you my friend – showing up around here and leaving some lovely comments. But I have the feeling that ten years owning this space calls for some change. So it’s time for a blog cleaning and I need your help.
I have had that plan for a while. I even bought a new blog theme last year during the black. Friday sales after I had been looking at one for almost a year – just missing the sale. I figured I would find time in the next 6 month after buying it to use the support that the package included. Well I did not.
So I am putting it out there now. In four weeks time on December 15th I am signing off from work for this year. I have told all my clients multiply time for weeks now. I will be strict and I will not be available heck, I’ll not pick up my phone and respond to anything. I quick out the accounts from my phone, I will delete the mail accounts. I am serious here.
BUT I plan on taking some time to work on this blog. History has shown that I won’t get it done in between.
And that is where I need your help. Could you answer the following five questions and help me decide what direction to go? I would be very much appreciated.
Thank you so very much

I started blogging last year and I already wish I had been a bit more proactive with how I set things up, and now it just feels…like a lot of work to change things. Like using tags properly.
But for me blogging is about fun, so I don’t want to spend time learning about this sort of thing…but also realize it can help with user experience.
For what it’s worth, I think your blog looks lovely. But I’ll be excited to see what updates you make :) You’ve created a beautiful space/community here.

Thank you Elisabeth. I love how it looks but the technical aspects are a bit outdated so that is the main reason I have to do something
Oh, man. A blog overhaul sounds like quite a big project! I would definitely be interested in updates on how it’s going and what direction you decide to go in!

Oh thank. I had not considered that might be of interest to anyone. I’ll see how it goes
I realized I have *almost* been around since the beginning (2014) and I remember when we talked about and tweaked our blog designs back then. I had a couple of blog design switches since then (I think) but I am looking forward to seeing the changes that you’re going to make. I am always here to bounce back ideas (as I am also thinking about maybe tweaking a couple of things on my blog – including blog hosting service, eek. I hope it’s not going to be too big of a lift.)
I mainly need to get the technical stuff a bit more up to date and responsive. And there are a few things I would like to do that I can’t. If I get it done… not sure but I am putting it out here. Needing a kick in the butt
My blog needs a “cleanup” desperately but I think i may need to hire someone to help with it. I set it up using a tutorial on Youtube, and the problem with that is, if I want to change anything or something goes wrong, I don’t know what to do. So it’s functioning just fine (for the most part) but I feel kind of stuck with it. I’ll be interested to see what you do!
I know the feeling. I have some idea what I am doing after ten years but only when it comes to starting from scratch and building up a new site. Obviously I don’t want that. So it will be a rollercoaster
This year, I started a big blog recategorization project and it’s been quite the undertaking. I wanted to clean up my categories and tagging system, but since I’ve been blogging since 2009, there have been a lot of posts to parse through. But I know I will be really happy when it’s done.
I also love playing around with my blog design. I try to switch it up every couple of years for something fresh and new to enjoy. I usually just get something from Etsy that’s easy to install.

Hey Tobia, Congrats on the 10 year anniversary. What blog theme did you end up purchasing?
